Flex Unarmed Security Guard (Guard card required)

Job Summary
This is an extra help/ flex position. This position is to cover shifts for our permanent unarmed guards that are on vacation or have called out for a shift. There are currently no guaranteed hours for this position. This position is for the general area of Marysville. These locations are primarily cannabis dispensaries, so you must be 21 years of age or older to work at this location. The guard must have a working smartphone and be familiar with using smartphone applications. Prior to being hired you must show proof of age eligibility, a California guard card, 40 hours of guard training certificates (you must be able to provide copies of certificates), and any applicable continuing education certificates. Interviews will only be conducted after proof of required documents have been provided.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to loss prevention, monitoring premises, and responding to incidents effectively. The Security Guard will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of property and personnel while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Duties

• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and security protocols are followed.
• Maintain surveillance through CCTV systems and report any unusual activities or violations.
• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and protect company assets.
• Provide assistance during emergencies, including administering CPR or first aid as needed.
• Document incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports for management review.
• Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to ensure compliance with legal regulations.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of loss prevention techniques and strategies.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
• Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
• Proficient in surveillance techniques, including the use of CCTV systems.
• Background in law enforcement or military service is a plus.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while making sound decisions quickly.
• Strong observational skills with attention to detail for identifying potential security risks.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with diverse groups of people.
