Flexible Family Manager: Childcare & Family Assistant

About Us

Rosie is a Seattle-based platform that helps great people turn a love of working with families into real, professional work. You tell us your skills, interests, and availability, and we match you with vetted local families, then handle the matching, scheduling, coordination, and payment so you can simply show up and do the work. It's a profession, not a gig, with coaching, community, and a clear path to grow. Start with just a few hours a week and build from there.

We take our community seriously. You'll clear the Rosie Community Bar — our standard for vetted, trusted Pros — and from day one you're supported with paid shadow sessions and weekly coaching, so you're never figuring it out alone. As you find your footing, you can take on more families, grow into household management, and even step into leadership and projects across the company.

Overview

This role is a welcoming way into meaningful, people-first work — built for people who are excited to start, even if you're early in your journey. Part childcare, part household management, part family assistant, you'll be matched with vetted local families and supported every step of the way. It's ideal for students, recent grads, parents, or anyone exploring care work who wants to start small, learn real skills, and earn real pay on a schedule that fits around classes, another job, or family life. Take on as few as 4 hours a week to start and scale up whenever you're ready.

How It Works

  • Get matched with vetted local families that fit your availability and interests.
  • Start with a light weekly commitment and learn the ropes with coaching and shadow support.
  • Grow at your own pace — add families, take on more hours, and build new skills as you go.

Duties

  • Supervise and engage children while parents work or step out, bringing warmth, patience, and follow-through.
  • Help households run smoothly — tidying, laundry, kitchen resets, and daily organization.
  • Assist with family logistics like pickups, meal prep, and errand runs.
  • Build trusted, ongoing relationships with the families you're matched with by showing up consistently and on time.
  • Maintain a calm, reliable, and proactive presence families can depend on.

Skills

  • Some experience caring for kids — paid, volunteer, or within your own family.
  • CPR certified or able to complete certification within 1 week of application
  • Warmth, reliability, and a genuine eagerness to learn.
  • Organized and proactive, with attention to detail in a busy home.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A genuine enjoyment of being around kids and helping households run smoothly.
