Flight Following Coordinator

Job Description

The Flight Following Coordinator (FFC) is responsible for knowing of all company procedures and ensure proper scheduling of all flights as well as communicating effectively with staff, pilots, and team members within the Operations department. Maintain operational knowledge of all flight activities associated with planning, scheduling, fuel, and ground handling of aircraft movements to expedite their completion with excellent service and safety in compliance with company and applicable regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Flight Following Coordinator reports directly to the Station Manager. FFC must be in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the company operations manual/procedures, and applicable company policies and procedures. Among the position duties and responsibilities of the position is:

  • Acknowledge round of recognition of the status of the property, equipment, and staff and report the findings to the supervisor of each area
  • Ensure all crewmembers are accurately briefed or re-briefed of any and all duty assigned by the Station Manager
  • Ensure required trip sheets and all other required trip documents are sent to and received by the appropriate flight department and/or crewmembers.
  • Ensure all required customs, immigration, agriculture, international handling requirements, or foreign government regulations and requirements are met for every flight segment.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely flight following for the fleet and any supplier providing lift and the efficient dissemination of such information to client services, scheduling, and all other interested parties.
  • Responsible for obtaining, monitoring, tracking, and disseminating any operational restriction to daily operations including, but not limited to: Notams, noise restrictions, FBO hours of operation, TFR and airport capabilities.
  • Responsible for proactively monitoring weather and air traffic control status and any other possible schedule interruption to client services, scheduling, and all other interested parties as necessary.
  • Coordinate and arrange all trip logistics for crew and passengers as required including but not limited.
  • Compile and analyze data related to the dispatch function, and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration.
