Position Summary
AIT AirMed is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Flight Nurse to join our critical care transport team in Albuquerque. This role provides advanced patient care in both air and ground interfacility transport settings, delivering a high level of clinical excellence in dynamic and often unpredictable environments.
As a Flight Nurse with AIT AirMed, you will work alongside a skilled team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered transport while operating with a high degree of autonomy and clinical judgment.
What You’ll Do
- Provide critical care-level nursing during air and ground interfacility transports
- Perform advanced patient assessments and interventions in high-acuity environments
- Manage ventilators, vasoactive infusions, and complex medication drips
- Collaborate with sending and receiving facilities to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation
- Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and clinical education initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or ability to obtain NM licensure)
- Minimum 3–5 years of critical care experience (ICU, ED, or equivalent)
- Current certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Ability to function independently in high-stress environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Flight or transport experience
- CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse)
- CCRN or equivalent critical care certification
- Experience with ventilator management and critical care pharmacology
- Neonatal and/or pediatric critical care experience
Work Environment
- Air and ground transport settings
- Variable weather and operational conditions
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, and prolonged standing
