Flight Operations Training Manager

Position Summary

At Capital Air Express, we don’t just hire employees — we develop pilots. We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented Flight Operations Training Manager who wants more than a desk job.

The Training Manager is responsible for the implementation, improvement and oversight of all pilot training programs in support of Part 135 operations. This role ensures full compliance with FAA regulations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, standardization and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and update pilot training programs in accordance with 14 CFR Part 135 and company manuals
  • Ensure compliance with FAA-approved training curricula and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and schedule initial, recurrent, upgrade, and differences training
  • Oversee pilot qualifications, currency tracking, and training records
  • Standardize training procedures, SOPs, and evaluation criteria across the pilot group
  • Supervise and support Check Airmen and instructor pilots
  • Conduct ground training, evaluations, and line checks as necessary
  • Monitor training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements
  • Support FAA audits, inspections, and certification activities
  • Maintain training documentation and ensure audit readiness at all times
  • Assist in the development of new hire and pilot pathway programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (ASEL required) with Instrument Rating
  • Current First or Second Class Medical
  • Previous experience as a CFII / MEI with 300+ dual given
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills
  • Must pass FAA-required drug and alcohol screening
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid passport
  • Clean driving and background record

Schedule & Lifestyle

  • Full-time schedule
  • Flexible days on/off (to be defined based on pilot availability and company growth)
  • Mix of day trips and occasional overnights
  • Based in or willing to relocate/commute to FFC, BOW, RDU or AUS

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $52,000.00 per year
