Floater Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Floater Teacher to join our childcare team. In this essential role, you will provide support across various classrooms, ensuring that all children receive quality care throughout the day. We are licensed for 43 children ages birth - 5 years old! You will assist in maintaining a smooth and efficient environment by covering breaks for infant teachers in the morning, covering breaks for our preschool teachers, filling in for absent teachers, and contributing to the overall cleanliness of the facility.

Duties

• Support Infant and Preschool Teachers: Provide breaks to infant teachers during the morning hours, allowing them to recharge while ensuring the children’s safety and engagement and give breaks to our preschool teachers in the afternoon.
• Substitute Coverage: Step in as a substitute teacher when another staff member is off or sick, providing continuity in care for the children.
• Afternoon Facility Maintenance: Assist with cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of classrooms, common areas, and other spaces within the facility, if time is allotted for this.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and practices.

Experience

• Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Must be able to lift children and participate in daily physical activities (Picking up children, holding children, standing on your feet, going up and down steps, sitting on the floor, etc.)
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 8 hours shifts, with a 1 hour break (Possible shift hours 7:30am-4pm, break from 1:30pm-2:30pm
• 13 Holidays annually
• 5 Paid Days off (after 120 days, for full time employees)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
