Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, flexible, and caring Floater Teacher to join our childcare team. This position offers flexible scheduling with hours ranging from part-time to full-time, up to 40 hours per week. The Floater Teacher will work with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years old, providing support throughout the center as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers by covering lunch breaks and planning periods.
- Provide supervision and care for children in classrooms ranging from infants (6 weeks) to preschool age (5 years).
- Substitute as the lead classroom teacher when a teacher is absent or off for the day.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for all children.
- Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and center policies.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and administration.
- Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and preparation of activities.
- Be flexible and available to work in different classrooms as needed.
- Respond to occasional call-ins when additional coverage is required.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Ability to work with children of varying ages and developmental stages.
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to accept occasional call-in shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must meet all state licensing requirements and successfully complete required background screenings.
Schedule
- Part-time to full-time hours available, up to 40 hours per week.
- Hours may vary based on staffing needs and classroom coverage.
- Must be willing to work with all age groups, from infants through preschool.
- Flexibility and dependability are essential for this role.
