Floating Mental Health Technician (CMA REQUIRED)

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to serve as a Floating Mental Health Technician supporting our interventional psychiatry services, including intranasal esketamine (Spravato) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). This role provides cross-clinic coverage as needed and directed.

The Floating Mental Health Technician plays a critical role in the safe administration and monitoring of interventional psychiatric treatments. Under the supervision of a MD, PA, or PMHNP, this individual supports esketamine administration in compliance with FDA REMS requirements and delivers TMS treatments according to established provider protocols.

This role also supports medication management coordination, prior authorizations, inventory management, and cross-functional communication to ensure seamless patient care.

You will be responsible for:

  • Esketamine Administration & Compliance
  • Monitoring patients during administration of intranasal esketamine under provider supervision.
  • Documenting daily notes in the EMR/EHR and managing paperwork for REMS compliance.
  • Maintaining inventory, order medication and supplies, and ensure proper disposal of controlled substances.
  • Adhering strictly to safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Administrative & Patient Coordination
  • Processing and tracking prior authorizations for esketamine treatment plans.
  • Scheduling patient appointments according to established protocols.
  • Facilitating communication between providers, pharmacies, patients, and referring providers.
  • Collaborating with Patient Care Coordinators (PCCs) to support clinic-level operations and patient satisfaction.
  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
  • Delivering TMS treatments according to provider-established protocols.
  • Setting up TMS equipment and ensuring accurate coil placement and system configuration.
  • Monitoring patient comfort and treatment accuracy during sessions.
  • Administering psychiatric rating scales and patient assessments per APMH protocols.
  • Troubleshooting patient comfort or equipment concerns during treatment.
  • Documenting treatment sessions and collaborating with overseeing providers.
  • Successfully completing TMS certification during onboarding.

  • Assisting with procurement of supplies, audits, and administrative tasks as assigned.

You will be successful, if:

  • You possess current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA), required.
  • You hold current BLS/CPR certification (or can obtain prior to start date).
  • You demonstrate proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (Tebra or similar).
  • You have experience charting treatment notes accurately and efficiently.
  • You have experience with medication prior authorizations and pharmacy coordination.
  • You maintain a professional, clinical demeanor (scrubs required).
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • You work well independently and collaboratively.
  • You exhibit strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • You communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
  • You demonstrate behavioral health experience, preferred.
  • You have experience supporting patients with depression and anxiety, preferred.
  • You are willing to travel between clinic locations, as required for floating coverage, mileage reimbursement applies.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
