Floating Preschool Teacher - Full-Time

Full-Time Floater Teacher (Ages 0–12)

Hearts & Minds Early Learning Center is looking for a dependable, flexible, and energetic Full-Time Floater Teacher to join our team! This position works with all age groups from infants through school age (0–12 years old) and helps support classrooms throughout the center as needed.

We are seeking someone who is patient, positive, team-oriented, and passionate about working with children in a fast-paced childcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist and support lead teachers in classrooms ranging from infants to school age
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
• Help supervise children during classroom activities, meals, playground time, and transitions
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization according to licensing standards
• Step into different classrooms as needed to maintain ratio requirements
• Support behavior management using positive guidance and redirection techniques
• Help with diapering, potty training, feeding, and daily care routines depending on age group
• Maintain professionalism and positive communication with staff and families
• Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state licensing regulations

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED required
• Childcare experience preferred
• Must be comfortable working with all age groups (infants through school age)
• Ability to adapt quickly and multitask in different classroom settings
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain
• Must pass required background checks

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with classroom management and behavior redirection
• Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviors including biting, hitting, and emotional outbursts in a calm and professional manner
• Comfortable assisting with lesson activities and daily routines
• Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

Schedule:

• Full-Time
• Monday–Friday
• Hours may vary based on center needs
