Floating Teacher

Join our exceptional team of early childhood educators as a floating teacher and make a positive impact on the lives of young children! Sunshine Day Nursery School is looking to hire a floating daycare teacher that is willing to support the lead staff in our toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten classes while working with children from ages 18 months to 5 years old.

About Us

Sunshine Day Nursery School is a NYS licensed day care that has been providing quality care and education to young children and supporting families for over 30 years. We are sponsored by the Greenbush Reformed Church. Our mission is to provide a quality nursery school experience in a loving and safe environment while promoting each child’s social, intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.

This is a full time, 40 hour position, Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:00pm

OR

a part time, 20-30 hour position, with flexible days and afternoon hours (between 11am and 5pm).

Duties

As a floating teacher, your responsibilities and duties would include:

- Physically moving around the center to check on each of our 7 classrooms;

- Support and provide aid to teachers as needed in the classrooms, gymnasium, and outdoors on the playgrounds;

- Assist children in navigating their daily routines, including feedings, naps, and diapering / toileting;

- Aid teachers as they implement our hands on, play based curriculum and activities;

- Participate in the basic cleaning of the center;

- Communicate openly and honestly with staff and parents.

Qualifications

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required

- All employees must pass NYS background checks and finger printing

- Associate's degree or CDA is preferred

- CPR and first aid training preferred

- MAT training preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.75 per hour
