Floor Covering Specialist / Project Manager

Job Overview

Floor Systems is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Flooring Specialist / Project Manager to join our growing team. This role involves providing expert guidance on flooring products and solutions, assisting customers with selections, and supporting sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a background in interior design or floor covering and experience in retail sales, inside sales, and outside sales. The Flooring Specialist will play a key role in enhancing customer experience through product demos, layout design, and upselling high-end flooring options. This position offers an engaging environment for individuals passionate about construction, remodeling, and interior design.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting flooring materials that meet their aesthetic and functional needs
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase flooring options and features
• Provide expert advice on renovation, remodeling, and maintenance of flooring systems
• Comfortable working both in the field and in a showroom setting, including high-end sales and upselling premium products
• Negotiate pricing and terms with clients to close sales effectively
• Manage account relationships through effective communication skills and organizational skills
• Support marketing efforts by participating in product demos and merchandising displays
• Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and retail math accurately during customer purchases

Experience

• Proven experience in retail sales, inside sales, or outside sales within the flooring, renovation, or construction industries
• Experience in high-end sales or luxury product environments preferred
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to upsell effectively
• Knowledge of interior design principles, installation, and maintenance enhances the role’s effectiveness
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate customers on product features and benefits
• Organizational skills for managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously
