Floor Quality Inspector

SUMMARY

Inspects machined or fabricated work pieces and assemblies at assembly, inspection, or machining work centers to ensure conformance to specifications by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Verify product using Process Setup and Specification sheet/blue print
• Use Elgin Management System/Paperless System to document product
• Reject non-conforming product and initiate reaction plan to DMR product as needed
• Receive raw material
• Saw sign off
• Pushrod Chopper (cut off) sign off
• Pushrod grinder sign off
• Pushrod welder sign off
• Pushrod Sorter sign off
• Pushrod final packaging sign off
• Brother secondary operations sign off
• CNC cell sign off
• Small CNC sign off basic parts (i.e. piston pin)
• Surface finish testing
• John Deere drillers sign off
• John Deere, Mack and various PR assembly sign off
• John Deere, Mack and various PR final packaging

Other Job Functions:

• Keeps area clean and organized in a 5S manner.
• May assists in training of other employees as required.
• Assists other departments to run production when need it.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Metallography, Metrology and Quality.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute averages, ranges, and percentages.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
