Florist Floral Designer Plant Maintenance

Off Broadway Florist is a small business in Queens, NY. We are agile, creative and social.

Owned and operated by Costas, the shop has a casual and lively atmosphere with luscious plants filling the interior year round and a very loyal and friendly customer base. We have been operating out of this location for 43 years, and proudly serve Astoria as one of the best flower and plant shops around.

Looking for a personable individual with good customer relations skills and experience in working at a flower shop. Plant watering and maintenance, bouquet and arrangement making, and general store up keeping are necessary skills for this position.

Duties:

-Work Sundays

-Maintain plants

- Create beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, funerals, and special events
- Assist customers in selecting the perfect flowers and arrangements for their needs
- Arrange flowers in vases, baskets, or other containers
- Maintain inventory of fresh flowers and other floral supplies
- Process customer orders and handle cash transactions
- Keep the shop clean and organized
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction

Experience/Skills:

- Previous experience as a floral designer is required
- Knowledge of different types of flowers, plants, and foliage
- Creativity and artistic skills to design unique and visually appealing arrangements
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in arranging flowers
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact with customers

- Strong artistic abilities with an eye for color, texture, and composition
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling purposes
- Strong organizational skills to maintain inventory and keep track of orders
