Steel modular welders are responsible for the design, layout, and fabrication of metal frameworks for commercial and industrial buildings. Their duties include cutting, repairing, and assembling of girders, beams, columns, and other building components to form complete structures. They operate a variety of manual and automated equipment, such as powersaws, electric cranes, and forklifts, to transport workpieces and metal components. They also check equipment condition, conduct preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with health safety regulations.
Must be certified, AWS.D1.1 AWS D1.8, Welding process FCAW-S
Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand tools effectively
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
