Food & Beverage Manager

Job Overview

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s bistro, ensuring a high standard of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing a team of servers and bartenders, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring that the bistro runs smoothly while upholding the hotel’s standards for quality and hospitality.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Assign duties to team members, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, goals, and updates.
  • Greet and assist guests as needed, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Monitor service delivery and ensure staff adhere to hotel standards for quality and hospitality.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow.
  • Manage inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained, placing orders as necessary.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure they meet hotel and health standards.
  • Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and health regulations are adhered to by staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bistro and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Monitor and manage the restaurants cash handling and point-of-sale transactions.
  • Prepare reports on restaurant operations, sales, and guest feedback for management.
  • Work closely with the hotel’s front desk and management teams to ensure seamless service for hotel guests.

Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a hospitality or food and beverage environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, health regulations, and safety standards.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
