As a Food Dispatcher you will be responsible for overseeing the coordination and delivery of food orders from kitchen facilities to designated locations. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring timely deliveries, and communicating effectively with both the kitchen staff and delivery drivers. The Food Dispatcher plays a key role in maintaining food quality and service standards during transport.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Coordination:
- Receive and review food orders from the kitchen, ensuring all orders are complete and ready for delivery.
- Dispatch food orders to appropriate delivery personnel or drivers, providing them with necessary route and delivery details.
- Ensure that food items are properly packed and labeled for delivery to maintain food safety and quality.
Delivery Management:
- Monitor the progress of deliveries to ensure timely arrival at customer destinations.
- Address any issues related to delivery, including delays, routing errors, or customer concerns, and resolve them promptly.
- Maintain an efficient delivery schedule, ensuring that all orders are dispatched on time.
Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for delivery drivers and kitchen staff, facilitating smooth communication between teams.
- Update kitchen staff on the status of orders, ensuring they are prepared in a timely manner.
- Handle customer complaints or inquiries related to delivery issues, acting as a liaison between customers and the restaurant or food service provider.
Inventory & Stock Management:
- Keep track of food inventory levels to ensure that the necessary ingredients and packaging materials are available for dispatch.
- Alert the kitchen or inventory manager when supplies are running low, and assist with stock replenishment.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks on food orders before dispatch to ensure compliance with safety standards and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure all packaging meets the restaurant or delivery service's standards to preserve food quality and prevent damage during transit.
Technology Use:
- Utilize order management systems, GPS tracking, and communication tools to streamline the dispatch process and monitor deliveries.
- Document any issues or delays related to orders in the system for future reference and analysis.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Follow all food safety and health regulations during the food dispatch process, ensuring the safe transport of food.
- Ensure that all transportation methods (e.g., delivery vehicles) are clean, properly maintained, and meet health codes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food service, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with dispatching, delivery management, or customer service is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using technology, including order management software and GPS tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
