Food Runner and Hostess

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations, and seat guests efficiently to optimize flow and reduce wait times
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of food orders, acting as the vital link between the kitchen and dining area
• Serve as a friendly point of contact for guests, addressing questions about menu items and restaurant policies with enthusiasm and professionalism
• Manage guest needs during their meal, including refilling drinks, clearing plates, and responding promptly to special requests or concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of host/food runner stations to uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and billing when necessary
• Assist in coordinating guest flow during busy hours to ensure a smooth dining experience for all patrons

Requirements

• Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred; enthusiasm and a welcoming attitude are essential
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and kitchen staff
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Excellent guest service skills with an emphasis on hospitality, phone etiquette, and guest relations
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as carrying trays or moving tables when needed
• Previous experience in hotel or restaurant environments is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is key
• Demonstrated ability to handle fast-paced situations with energy, positivity, and professionalism
