Food Runner/ Back Server

**Availability must include Tuesday through Sunday **

Job Summary:

The Food Runner/ Backwaiter is an integral part of the service team that can include setting up the pass, sorting & stocking linens, clearing tables, running food, working with the servers and expediters, assisting the kitchen team, polishing glassware and various other tasks that support service and kitchen.

Service Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend table numbers and seat numbers
  • Excellent communication with expeditor, servers, and kitchen team
  • Moves gracefully throughout the dining room
  • Uses open-arm approach at all times
  • Eye for detail in regards to polishing and placement of glassware, silverware, china, etc.
  • Ability to balance multiple plates at the same time
  • Ability to communicate to guests what is being placed in front of them
  • Prioritize and organize guest requests and needs as well as company requests and needs

Non-service Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Menu knowledge and beverage knowledge up to date

· Participate in pre-shift meetings

· Pass all necessary quizzes applicable to the job.

· Appearance and hygiene are 100% every shift.

· Integrity, reliability and honesty.

· Adhere to all Health Department standards

· Punctuality for all shifts and meetings

Other Qualifications:

· 0-1 year of experience in restaurants, or hospitality, and strong interest in F&B

· Good Communicator – Great listener

· Attention to detail & well organized

· Works well as part of a team

· Initiative & follow up

· Prioritization & multi-tasking

· Interest in food and hospitality

Work Environment:

· Ability to regularly reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel or crawl

· Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 15lbs; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

· Ability to stand or walk for 6-12 hours at a time

· Ability to balance & carry multiple plates, glass racks and or/glasses
