At El Portal Restaurant, we are looking for energetic, dependable, and team-oriented individuals to join our front-of-house team as a Food Runner / Busser. This position plays an important role in delivering excellent guest service and helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food quickly and accurately from the kitchen to guests
• Assist servers by checking table needs and clearing plates
• Reset and clean tables promptly for incoming guests
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, restrooms, patios, and service stations
• Refill waters, chips, salsa, and other guest requests when needed
• Help stock supplies, polish silverware, and restock stations
• Support teamwork by assisting servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times
• Wear non-slip shoes during all shifts

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift trays, bus tubs, and stand for long periods
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Restaurant experience preferred, but not required
• Food Handler Certificate required

Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
• Must be available for busy holidays such as Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day
