Food Safety Inspector

Responsibilities
  • Implement field work plans for collecting samples of locally traded and imported food in accordance with approved methodologies and procedures to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness of assessment.
  • Coordinate with relevant authorities to determine sampling locations and priorities in line with work plans and schedules.
  • Verify that collected samples comply with required standards and prepare detailed reports on work progress.
  • Document all sampling stages to ensure accurate data is available to support analysis and risk assessment processes.
  • Follow up on food alerts and notifications received from local, federal, and international entities to assess their seriousness and determine response priorities.
  • Prepare reports on food alerts, including field observations and appropriate recommendations.
  • Implement follow-up procedures for food alerts to ensure corrective actions are applied in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Provide recommendations to improve work plans and implement improvements based on field experience and sampling results.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and standards throughout all stages of sample collection and handling.
  • Coordinate with relevant laboratories to ensure samples are delivered on time and in accordance with preservation and transportation standards.
Education and Experience
  • Educational Qualification: Diploma in Chemical Sciences / High School Certificate
  • Experience: No experience required
