Job Description:
The Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor is an integral part of the Salad and Go Production and Distribution Centers. As the FSQA Supervisor, you will assist the FSQA Management in implementing and executing Food Safety programs. In this role, you will perform Food Safety audits while developing corrective action plans based on audit findings. The QA Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the QMS (Quality Management Systems) and lead the team in record keeping and organization, maintaining robust documentation guidelines and support evidence for each control step and process.
Responsibilities:
Manage schedules for FSQA technicians
Perform weekly / monthly audits of food safety at the facility and develop corrective actions, including following up with different departments to verify work complete
Develop SOP’s and training programs based on SOP’s
Maintain inventories of Food Safety and Quality Management items
Develop weekly reports on KPI’s of Food Safety, Safety, and training
Develop and evaluate Process audits, and checklists in Redzone Software
Maintain records in QMS files
Manage Schedules for Annual, Semi-annual, Monthly Verification/ Validations
Review process records and evaluate work of FSQA technicians
Maintain cleanliness in compliance with quality control procedures, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, face masks, and other safety gear, as mandated by OSHA and Company policies.
Adapt to changing production demands and meet daily performance goals.
Work independently and as part of a team in a structured production environment.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role, preferably in the food processing industry
Ability to lead and provide direction with guidance to plant team and display leadership in directing all aspects of quality in the areas of product evaluation, consumer complaints, documentation, reporting, Quality systems, HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, Environmental, Inventory, and all programs incorporated within the Quality Management System.
Must display excellent understanding of sanitation practices and effectiveness of verification
Excellent at time management and able to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks.
Critical thinker and self-starter.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
English/Spanish speaking ideal
Enjoy working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
Food Safety or Environmental Safety Qualification
Ability to travel up to 25% may be required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
Lead with compassion and integrity
Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
Perform many job duties in refrigerated conditions (35-40°F) for extended periods.
Follow all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and OSHA regulations.
Safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Remain on feet for the majority of the shift while performing repetitive motions, including reaching, bending, and twisting, as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with Statistical Process Control analysis in food manufacturing environment
Familiarity with BRC, FSMA, HACCP, HARPC, SQF, FDA, USDA
Experience in Produce and RTE Food manufacturing environment.
Extensive knowledge in computer systems, excel, macros, pivots, access, Tableau and applications
Extensive knowledge in microbiology/chemistry of food products
