Overview
Cafe Petra is a fast-paced, family-friendly restaurant known for strong teamwork, efficiency, and high service standards. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking team member who can keep up with a busy environment while delivering excellent customer service.
This is not a “stand around” position — we need someone who can multitask, stay proactive, and take pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Compensation & Perks:
- $8/hour during 2-week training period
- $2.15/hour + keep 100% of your tips (no tip pooling) after training

Duties
- Greet and serve guests promptly with a positive attitude
- Take accurate dine-in and take-out orders
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area at all times
- Follow opening, during-shift, and closing procedures
- Restock supplies (silverware, cups, desserts, condiments, etc.)
- Prepare beverages (tea, lemonades, etc.)
- Handle cash transactions and ensure register accuracy
- Assist with cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, restrooms, and trash
- Work as a team and support both front and back of house
- Upsell menu items and provide recommendations
- Ensure all take-out orders are labeled, sealed, and accurate
- Stay visible and attentive on the floor (no hiding in kitchen or behind register)
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus - but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as TOAST
- MUST have reliable transportation
- Must be dependable and able to show up on time, every time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong multitasking and communication skills
- Willingness to learn full menu (quiz required after training)
- Must maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Team-oriented mindset
- Basic math skills for cash handling and bill calculations; serving or host/hostess experience is advantageous
Schedule Requirements
Weekday Availability Required:
- Monday: 10AM–5PM or 5PM–11PM
- Tuesday: 10AM–5PM
- Wednesday: 10AM–5PM
- Thursday: 10AM–5PM
- Friday: 10AM–5PM
Weekend Availability:
- Saturday: 10AM–5PM or 5PM–12AM
- Sunday: 10AM–5PM or 5PM–11PM(Flexible scheduling on weekends)
- 2 days off per week
Additional Expectations
- Must be willing to be on-call occasionally for shift coverage or busy periods
- Accountability for order accuracy and cash handling
- High standards for cleanliness and customer experience
