Pay: $16.90 per hour + tips eligible

Position Summary

The Server / Busser / Food Runner / Cashier is a key hospitality team member responsible for delivering friendly, efficient, and attentive guest service. This role supports front-of-house operations by assisting guests throughout their dining experience while helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide welcoming and attentive hospitality to guests
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately using the Toast POS system
  • Process guest payments efficiently and accurately
  • Deliver food and beverages safely and promptly
  • Understand menu items and answer guest questions
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate concerns to management
  • Pre-bus and bus tables to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Assist with side work, restocking, running food, cleaning stations, and maintaining dining areas
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu offerings, beer selections, and promotions
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
  • Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
  • Monitor guest needs throughout their dining experience, respond promptly to requests, and ensure guest comfort.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Must meet California minimum age requirements to serve alcoholic beverages
  • California Food Handler Card, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours)
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs or more
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail.

Schedule

  • Expected hours: 8-24 hours per week
  • 4 to 8 hour shifts available
  • Day, evening, morning, night, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required

Work Location

Applicants should be able to reliably commute to Davis, CA or plan to relocate before starting employment.
