The Food Service associate is responsible for effective coordination and implementation of the food service program at the Columbus, Ohio facility. Responsibilities and duties include food service budgeting, purchasing, receiving, and storing food and related supplies, menu and food preparation, and monitoring care of related equipment. The Food Service person is responsible for safe and sanitary provision of dietary services, special dietary needs, supervision of government reimbursement and evaluation programs, participation in appropriate government food service programs, and compliance with governing regulations and standards.

Compensation: $15-17 phr

Qualifications:

• A. Education: High School Diploma
• B. Training and Experience: Agency will provide training.
• C. Job Knowledge: Understanding of basic nutrition, meal preparation, rehabilitation care, basic knowledge of purchasing, business principles, and delivery of services.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and provide balanced and nutritional meals for clients with special dietary needs.
• Develop a food service life skills program by providing and/or training staff to provide
• nutrition education to youth formally and informally cooking skills development to youth
• food sanitation practices safety practices housekeeping skills (cleaning, laundry)
• Assure health and safety standards of the kitchen, storage areas, and equipment.
• Prepare and maintain monthly inventory of food, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
• Develop and maintain systems for monthly purchases and usage to account for food and related supplies for the Lewisburg, Danville, or Coal Township facility.
• Provide proper documentation and verbal reporting pertaining to interaction with clients.
