Foot Orthotic Fabrication Technician

7:00am to 3:30pm / Monday to Friday

Job Summary

The Foot Orthotic Fabrication Technician is responsible for the assembly and finishing of custom orthotic appliances for clinical and retail customers. You’ll work with materials such as plastic, rubber, vinyl, and adhesives to produce durable, comfortable foot orthoses. Prior experience is not required—we’ll train you to succeed in this specialized craft.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble custom foot orthotics according to specifications and work orders.
• Cut, shape, grind, and polish materials to create accurate and high-quality products.
• Work with plastics, rubber compounds, vinyl, and contact cement.
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment, including:
• Floor-standing grinders and sanders
• Polishing and buffing wheels
• Drill presses, ovens, scissors, and hand tools
• Inspect each orthotic for accuracy, quality, and comfort.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Support the production team and assist with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions (in English).
• Basic math, measurement, and reading comprehension skills.
• Ability to stand for full shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Prior manufacturing, assembly, or lab experience a plus—but not required.
