The Dispatcher is responsible for the workflow of any and all work written and generated by either the service desk or management. It is to be distributed in a fair and equitable manner. The dispatcher is responsible for any and all sublet vendors doing business with the service department. It is the explicit duty of the dispatcher to report to management any actions or infractions the may hindered either the performance, integrity, or safety of the shop and its employees.

• Dispatch work to all the technicians in a fair and equitable manner. The work should be dispatched based on the technician’s skill level and ability to meet the promise time.

• Communicate to the appropriate Advisor information regarding any job that will not meet the Advisor's promise time. Maintain up to date knowledge of all pending repairs and special order parts.

• Alert the management staff of any reasons why a job cannot be completed the same day or within the time frame set by the Advisor.

• Meet with the Advisors at the end of each day and retrieve all of the open repair orders. Inform the Advisors of the status of every repair order and prioritize the jobs for the next work day.

• Meet with the Service Manager weekly to discuss technician performance, opportunities, and shop and equipment issues.

• Alert the Part’s department of any vehicle that has arrived for installation of a special ordered part.

• Maintain knowledge of all applicable warranty policies to insure that warranty repairs, documentation, and procedures are handled in accordance with the established manufactures guidelines.

• Oversee sublet repairs and the vendors performing these repairs. Verify the quality of work and the vendor’s compliance to company policies.
