Summary
Foreman II, under the general supervision of the Manager, oversees route and driver management, productivity reporting, and customer service. Responsibilities encompass employee performance, training, and safety, as well as maintenance coordination and some budgetary input.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitors routes and drivers via automated fleet management and routing software
• Maintains daily productivity logs and prepare weekly productivity reports
• Coordinates with back-office staff to address customer requests and concerns regarding route services, making necessary adjustments and communicating changes to ensure customer satisfaction
• Assists with employee training in classroom setting and during field operations
• Manages employee performance and development, including interviewing, hiring, counseling, and evaluating staff, while also overseeing time and leave management to ensure policy compliance
• Conducts weekly tailgate safety meetings, investigates vehicle incidents, takes statements, gathers photos of accidents to prepares reports for accident review board

• Coordinates with maintenance regarding new container sets, swaps, repairs, and returns
• Serves as a relief route collections driver as needed
• Makes recommendations related to the department budget; makes purchases up to $1,000
• Ensures employee compliance with established safety procedures and proper usage of safety equipment
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three (3) years of solid waste experience or related area
• Two (2) years of lead or foreman experience

Preferred Qualifications

• College level management course

Certificates and Licenses

• Valid Class B CDL
