Job Description / About the Role:
The Forensic Accounting Expert – Financial Crimes will support investigations into digital and financial frauds through forensic accounting, transaction analysis, and financial intelligence. The role involves close coordination with law enforcement agencies and financial institutions to trace illicit fund flows, identify emerging fraud trends, and strengthen fraud prevention and compliance mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of UPI frauds, card misuse, and other digital financial frauds, including tracing the origin and operational mechanisms of fraudulent activities, and prepare detailed reports.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and financial institutions on digital arrest investigations and financial fraud prevention initiatives.
- Identify emerging trends in payment systems fraud, digital payment manipulation, and vulnerabilities in telecom and IT infrastructure.
- Perform forensic accounting to uncover evidence and trace the flow of funds across accounts and platforms.
- Research fraudulent transactions, collect supporting evidence, and prepare analytical and investigation reports.
- Determine appropriate courses of action and document and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
Skills & Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in banking and financial risk management, forensic accounting, or financial crime investigations.
- Completed B.E./B.Tech / MCA / MBA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com / M.A. (Economics) / Postgraduate degree with First Division or minimum 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
- Knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency instruments, and financial trail analysis.
- Certifications related to anti-money laundering (AML), fintech investigation, fraud management, crime risk analysis, financial crimes, database management, or other relevant domains.
- Proficiency in IT and analytical tools, including Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and inter-agency coordination skills.
