The 12th Judicial District Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and mission-driven Forensic Interviewer to join our multidisciplinary team serving children and families impacted by abuse across our six-county district.
The CAC serves all six counties in Tennessee’s 12th Judicial District: Rhea, Bledsoe, Sequatchie, Marion, Franklin, and Grundy. Following training and shadowing across the district, this position will be primarily based in Marion, Franklin, and Grundy counties. Travel to Rhea county and Sequatchie counties will be required throughout training.

Position Summary
The Forensic Interviewer conducts neutral, fact-finding forensic interviews with children and adolescents in accordance with nationally recognized best practices. This role works closely with law enforcement, DCS, prosecutors, medical professionals, and advocates as part of the Child Protective Investigative Team (CPIT).
This position requires emotional resilience, professionalism, and a strong commitment to child safety and justice.

(We know this is a specialized field. Training is provided, so we are looking for the right fit more than prior interviewing experience.)
Tennessee Code Annotated requires forensic interviewers to meet one of the following:
(A) Have experience equivalent to three (3) years of full-time professional work in one (1) or a combination of the following areas:
(a) Child protective services
(b) Criminal justice
(c) Clinical evaluation
(d) Counseling
(e) Forensic interviewing or other comparable work with children
AND
(B) Have graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field related to social service, education, criminal justice, nursing, psychology, or other similar profession.
