Position Overview
- Full-time Forensic Interviewer position.
- Reports to the Intervention Director (also bilingual forensic interviewer).
- Works on a team with Family Support Advocates, Case Support Advocates and the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in Boulder County.
- Spanish/English bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
General Duties
- Conducts forensic interviews of children regarding allegations of child abuse.
- Provides testimony in court as needed.
- Provides training and consultation for law enforcement, human services, and prosecutors.
Specific Responsibilities
- Conducts forensic interviews of children regarding allegations of abuse.
- Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary investigative team.
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with partners.
- Provides testimony in court as needed.
- Provides case consultation and schedules cases as needed.
- Develops and conducts training with agency partners or community professionals.
- Attends trainings and stays current on child abuse issues, research, protocols, and interviewing techniques.
- Attends and participates in peer review monthly.
- Participates on Boulder County Sexual Assault Review Team as needed.
- Available after-hours on an emergency basis, as needed.
Other Duties or Skills
- Represents Blue Sky Bridge on assigned community committees.
- Provides grant support, participates in fundraising, audits, and prepares reports.
- Attends Blue Sky Bridge events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Internal & External Relationships
- Works closely with Blue Sky Bridge staff and agency partners including investigators, prosecutors, treatment specialists, physicians, caseworkers, volunteers, and others.
Training Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field, OR significant applied combination of education and experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in investigations or working with children.
- Excellent communication and mediation skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work with a variety of disciplines.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and computer skills.
- Physical ability to move between buildings, lift 20 lbs., and go up and down stairs.
Preferred Skills
- Spanish/English bilingual.
- Experience interviewing children at a child advocacy center.
- Understanding of trauma-informed work environments and cultural humility.
- Understanding of child maltreatment.
- Knowledge of family systems and child victimization.
- Knowledge of research-based forensic interviewing protocols and ability to use them developmentally appropriately.
- Knowledge of child protection and legal systems.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salaried position: $70,000–$80,000, depending on experience.
