Forensic Pathologist

Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 3x12/5x8 (36 hrs. or 40 hrs. /week), Rotating weekends

Job duties:

• Perform autopsies and post-mortem examinations.
• Review decedent medical history and analyze test results.
• Determine cause and manner of death.
• Prepare detailed written case reports.
• Provide pathology consultation to coroner’s office staff and law enforcement.
• Certify cases in the Electronic Death Record System.
• Follow up on cases as required.
• Provide phone consultation and on-call support.
• Confer with law enforcement and provide courtroom testimony as needed.
• Handle evidence and coordinate laboratory analysis.
• Maintain availability for surge capacity, vacation, or sick leave coverage.

Job Requirements:

• Board Certification in forensic pathology (ABPath)
• Experience in providing forensic pathology services
• Professional Liability/malpractice Insurance
• New York State Medical License (MD or DO)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
