We are looking for an independent, highly skilled researcher to join our team and tackle critical measurement challenges within the forensic chemistry disciplines of seized drugs and trace evidence.

Plan and execute rigorous, self-directed research targeting complex measurement challenges in seized drugs and trace evidence.
Utilize cutting-edge analytical equipment, applying both traditional chromatographic and ambient ionization mass spectrometry for precise qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Utilize and refine the analytical techniques and methods actively used in modern forensic laboratories to ensure your research translates directly to the field.
Bring your hands-on expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced chromatography and mass spectrometry equipment, keeping your research environment operating at peak performance.
Bridge the gap between the lab and the real world by developing comprehensive documentary packages that allow forensic laboratories to validate and implement your new analytical methods.
Act as a thought leader in your field by authoring peer-reviewed manuscripts and presenting your research findings at national and international conferences.

Individual Occupational Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
OR
Combination of education and experience - course work equivalent to a major as shown in A above, including at least 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
This position has an education requirement. Transcripts must be submitted to validate that the education requirement has been met. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package. However, an official copy will be required before a final offer of employment.
