A Forklift Operator safely moves materials in warehouses or sites using industrial trucks, loading/unloading, stacking, and organizing goods while conducting safety checks, managing inventory records, and maintaining clean work areas, requiring certification, physical stamina, and adherence to strict safety (OSHA) protocols for efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, etc., to load/unload trucks, move pallets, and transport goods to storage/production.
- Safety & Maintenance: Perform daily equipment inspections, report issues, maintain cleanliness, and strictly follow all safety rules (OSHA).
- Inventory Management: Place stock correctly, rotate products (FIFO), assist with counts, and use scanners/logs to track movement.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders, ensuring loads are secure and accurate for shipment.
- Documentation: Complete paperwork like delivery notes, bills of lading, and inventory records.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification/license.
- Experience in warehouse/logistics.
- Strong safety awareness & spatial awareness.
- Good communication & teamwork.
- Physical ability to lift & stand.
- Basic computer/scanning skills.
Work Environment:
- Warehouses, construction sites, factories.
- May involve working with hazardous materials, on conveyors, or near heavy machinery.
