Forklift Driver/Labourer

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Forklift Counterbalance Driver to join our warehouse team based in Grays. This is a fast-paced role within a busy warehouse environment, ideal for someone with previous groupage loading experience and a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Warehouse and Shift Managers, your duties will include:

• Safely unloading inbound shipments and loading pallets onto HGV vehicles and trailers
• Efficiently stacking and storing palletised freight in designated warehouse areas
• Ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free from damage
• Labelling pallets correctly and reporting any quantity or quality discrepancies
• Carrying out daily pre-use forklift safety inspections and reporting defects
• Loading and unloading heavy goods vehicles manually where required
• Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to prepare goods safely for transportation
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised warehouse, canopy, and trailer environment
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and reporting any incidents or concerns to management

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• A valid RTITB Counterbalance FLT licence (or equivalent)
• Previous experience operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Experience loading and unloading groupage trailers
• The ability to handle manual loading/offloading tasks
• A flexible and proactive approach to work and shift patterns
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating weekly shift pattern:
• Week 1: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Week 2: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Saturday mornings on a rota basis

Job Type: Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: £14.00-£21.00 per hour
