SUMMARY
The Forklift Material Handler loads, unloads and moves materials within or near center, cross dock, trailers, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included the following. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Able to use scanning equipment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Forklift certification.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and write English is required. Bilingual English/Spanish is desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and talk. The employee must be able to use both feet and legs when operating a forklift as well as both hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees must be able to hear in order to perform their essential job functions. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the ability to hear other forklifts, individuals that may be nearby, and the common noises of the environment around them at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
