Forklift Mechanic

Overview

We invite you to join our team as a forklift mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of industrial and heavy equipment. In this role, you will use your mechanical expertise to ensure forklifts, heavy industrial equipment, and other industrial tools operate at peak performance. Duties

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of forklifts, including electric, LP, and diesel models, ensuring compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all types of forklifts and industrial equipment.
  • Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, transmission, brake systems, and any other mechanical issues.
  • Conduct welding, fabrication, tire service, alignment adjustments, and hydraulic system repairs to restore equipment functionality.
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and modifications of various machinery components.
  • Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed; interpret diagnostic codes for automotive diagnostics and electrical systems.
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols; support equipment upgrades or modifications as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven mechanic experience with forklift and industrial equipment repair in dealership or industrial settings; familiarity with multiple brands (ex: Toyota, Raymond, Cat, Hyster, etc.) or OEM parts is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding techniques.
  • Experience working with forklifts or similar heavy industrial machinery; certification in forklift operation preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation
  • Capable of working efficently, both indepentantly and as a team.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; commitment to safety standards in all repair activities.

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
