Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator position is responsible for various general labor duties such as loading and unloading trucks and performing an array of responsibilities such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from inventory, or managing, organizing, and staging barrel inventory for production teams.

With a warehouse located in one of the largest cities in the US, our used bourbon barrels are ready to ship. We work with customers from the US, Europe, Asia, and elsewhere, providing high-quality barrels for distilling a variety of liquors and spirits.


Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift to transport empty and full barrels throughout the facility
  • Load and unload trucks with barrels, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
  • Stage barrels for repair, cleaning, and shipping based on production needs
  • Read and follow pick sheets, load maps, and work instructions accurately
  • Inspect forklift daily and report any mechanical or safety issues immediately
  • Maintain organization of barrel storage areas, racks, and staging zones
  • Assist with manual movement or repositioning of barrels as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness in high-traffic areas
  • Work closely with production and loading teams to meet daily goals

Starting Wage: $19 training pay

  • A typical new hire averages $20-$23 after 90 days.
  • Attendance and Safety bonuses available

All successful candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Prior forklift experience required (warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Ability to safely handle large, bulky items (barrels) without causing damage
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions and load instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Must be reliable with strong attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to lift, roll, and maneuver barrels and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Willingness to assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed
