Forklift Operator
CLASS 7 HEAVY DUTY FORKLIFT OPERATOR
Southwest Mobile Storage is a storage container business that is growing and needs a heavy duty forklift operator for our San Diego branch. If you are the right fit for us, you will join a shop team with great communication, teamwork and you will be busy. Our team members are self-disciplined and highly motivated because they work with minimal supervision. You will also be aiding in the quality control process in maintaining containers by checking, sweeping, touching up, and other simple tasks to keep the container fleet up to expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload containers up to 45’ long from back of trucks
- Stack and organize containers in the yard
- Sweeping out containers when needed
- Cleaning windows, blinds, doors, floors, and walls of refurbished containers
- Keep work area and general yard clean of debris
- Routine maintenance on forklift (blowing out, checking fluids, etc.)
Skills Needed for Success:
- Be able to lift fifty pounds
- Operate forklift in an outdoor environment
- Be punctual and reliable
- Be able to use basic tools to assemble and disassemble blinds, doors, etc.
- Have a safety oriented mind set
Required Qualifications:
- Monday through Friday
- 1-2 years’ minimum experience with picking up and moving shipping containers
- 25 ton high capacity forklift experience a plus
- Heavy duty forklift certification or willing to be certified by our safety staff
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic carpentry, electrical or welding experience a plus
