Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Former SeaWorld Trainer to join our team as a Training and Development Specialist. This role leverages extensive animal training expertise, combined with instructional design and human resources skills, to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs. The ideal candidate will utilize their background in marine animal training to enhance employee education, talent management, and organizational development initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply unique skills in a corporate environment focused on learning technology, program management, and leadership development.

Duties

  • Design and develop engaging training curricula utilizing instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and program management best practices.
  • Create content for various learning platforms, including LMS, SharePoint, Workday, and other learning technology tools like Adobe Captivate.
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions, mentoring programs, and performance management initiatives to foster professional growth.
  • Lead training delivery sessions through public speaking engagements, classroom experience, and virtual presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Manage talent development processes including succession planning, HR sourcing, and employee evaluation to support organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with HR teams on human capital management strategies such as change management, conflict management, and employee relations.
  • Collect data through research and data collection techniques to assess training effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support organization design initiatives by integrating training programs with broader HRIS systems like Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS), Salesforce, and LMS platforms.
  • Provide expertise in content development for technical writing, program design, and employee engagement activities aligned with organizational objectives.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in curriculum development, instructional design (ADDIE), adult education, and program management.
  • Proficiency with learning technology tools including Adobe Captivate, LMS platforms, SharePoint, Workday, HRIS systems, and Salesforce.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver effective training through public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in talent management areas such as succession planning, performance management, mentoring, and employee evaluation.
  • Knowledge of organization design principles, change management strategies, and human resources management practices.
  • Ability to conduct research, data collection, and technical writing to support content development initiatives.
  • Experience in classroom teaching or training delivery within corporate or educational settings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
