We are looking for laboratory based Formulation Scientist(s) with a solid pharmaceutical formulation background (API and excipients) to advise our customers on their formulation challenges. In this role you will formulate final dosage forms for customers with actual or model APIs to support them in their development programs. As part of a team of Formulation Scientists and with our Technical Managers in the market, you will translate customer formulation challenges into mechanistic based formulation protocols, execute the experiments, and report the results for sharing with the customer. You will be working in a new high end Technical Center of Excellence in Hyderabad, India. What we ask

• Experience in developing formulations for the regulated market, with a focus on oral solid dosage forms (like Tablets, Capsules, Granules, Powders, pellets etc.) showcasing strong pharmaceutical formulation development skills.
• A hands-on experience of handling equipments associated with OSD manufacturing is mandatory.
• Deriving product development strategy or customer solution based on targeted literature searches, including patent search is desirable.
• Having a good working knowledge of pharmaceutical process steps (Direct Compression, Wet Granulation, Dry granulation & Wurster coating) and equipment to formulate oral solid dosage forms and execute relevant laboratory experiments.
• Scale up, Exhibit batches and technology transfer experience is mandatory.
• Ability to prepare consultative / mechanistic (powder technology) based formulation protocols. Knowledge of various excipients, their role in formulations, usage concentrations etc is a must.
• Review test results in alignment with the project goals, identify causes of variances and recommend solutions to achieve goals.
• Prepare/review master formulas, manufacturing procedures, SOPs, stability protocols/reports, Product Development Reports, QOS, QbR and other CMC documents for regulatory filings.
• Independent product development and stakeholder management skills to build strong connections with your team, the Technical Managers, and the Innovation & Technical Solutions (ITS) team.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvements in practices and systems to improve performance and enhance efficiency and quality.
• Striving for excellence in everything you do.
• Stakeholder management skills to build strong connections with colleagues in the team.
• High proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Education qualification: M. Pharm or Ph.D.
• Min. 8 years of recent technical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in formulation development of oral solid dosage forms.

Vacancy description

• You will be part of a Formulation team.
• The formulation team, along with Analytical team, forms our newly established Technical Centre Excellence, led by the CoE Manager and Director.
• The Technical Centre of Excellence is part of the wider Innovation & Technical Solutions Department of DFE Pharma.
