Position Summary

$12.00 per hour plus tips

Baristas at Foxtail Coffee Co. are responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences through friendly, individualized service and consistent, high quality beverages. Baristas uphold Foxtail’s standards, maintains a clean and welcoming environment, and represents the brand with professionalism at all times. This role may include opening or closing the store independently, following all Foxtail operational procedures.

Foxtail Coffee Co. operates seven days a week, including holidays. Baristas are expected to support business needs through flexible scheduling and reliable attendance.

Product Standards

Baristas are responsible for maintaining Foxtail’s beverage and product quality by:

• Ensuring all guests are educated on Foxtail products and services.
• Following all Foxtail Coffee drink recipes, preparation methods, and quality standards.
• Passing required re certifications in a timely manner.
• Developing foundational knowledge of coffee and tea regions, blends, and flavor profiles.
• Preparing all beverages—including espresso, cold brew, blended drinks, and teas—consistently and accurately.
• Assisting with packaging, labeling, and other product related tasks assigned.

Guest Service Standards

Baristas create a warm, welcoming environment by:

• Greeting every guest with fast, friendly, personalized service.
• Building rapport by learning guest names, favorite drinks, and preferences.
• Verbally receiving and calling back orders clearly and courteously.
• Proactively addressing guest needs and preventing service issues.
• Accurately ringing orders and handling cash transactions.
• Answering phones professionally, including taking orders and providing store information.
• Educating guests on blends, preparation methods, and product freshness.
• Serving baked goods and food items according to Foxtail standards.
• Maintaining efficient, friendly service during all levels of business.

Environment & Operations

Baristas support store operations by:

• Completing all daily cleaning responsibilities, including bar, café, restrooms, equipment, and FOH/BOH areas.
• Restocking shelves, cups, syrups, milks, and other supplies as needed.
• Routinely cleaning grinders, espresso machines, counters, floors, windows, and trash areas.
• Assisting with weekly shipments and inventory organization.
• Upholding all Foxtail Quality Assurance Standards and reporting any gaps immediately.
• Reporting safety hazards, operational inconsistencies, and employee accidents to the manager or lead on duty.
• Following all opening and closing procedures, including when responsible for these duties independently.

Requirements, Qualifications & Physical Demands

• Entry level position; no prior coffee experience required.
• Must maintain positive Foxtail Coffee morale and a professional attitude.
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• May be required to run errands for supplies or support special events.
• Excellent verbal communication and guest service skills.
• Well organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Frequently required to use hands for equipment operation, cleaning, and product preparation.
• Must be able to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work in varying lighting conditions and handle hot beverages and food items safely.
