FPGA Verification Engineer (Full time Contractor)

DornerWorks, a leader in embedded engineering design services, is seeking an experienced FPGA Verification Engineer to join our talented team. As one of just a few Premier Members of Xilinx’s Alliance Program, our FPGA team provides expertise in programmable logic designs targeting SoCs, FPGAs, and CPLDs for industry leaders throughout the country. You will contribute to all aspects of the electronic design project life cycle; research, planning, design, architecture, and testing. What you will be doing:
- Support development of architecture and detailed specifications for innovative electronic products.
- Develop, test or verify detailed designs to meet customer requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with the team and customers to deliver stand out FPGA solutions.
- Conduct testing and analysis, including simulation in Siemens QuestaSim and Vivado Xsim.
- Focus on continuous improvement for technology, tools and processes.
What we like to see:
- Experience with FPGA IP development, integration, evaluation, and validation.
- Experience with high speed design and validation, including DDR3, SERDES, Gigabit Transceivers, PCle, Ethernet, etc.
- Experience with certification of complex electronic hardware devices, including but not limited to RTCA/DO-254, Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware
- Digital Signal Processing design for FPGA devices, both programming and testing.
- Model-Based Design using tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Xilinx System Generator or Intel/Altera DSP Builder.
- Experience with the latest SoC devices such as Xilinx Zynq and Zynq UltraScale+.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) (or BSECE).
- 3+ years’ experience developing FPGA designs from concept definition to production.
- Proficiency in FPGA architecture, design, modeling, simulation, and verification in VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog a plus.
- Proficient working in the Linux environment.
- Solid understanding of digital design principles and synchronous design techniques.
- Comfortable with scripting languages such as, Python, Tcl, Bash, and Makefile.
- Proficiency with FPGA design tools such as Vivado.
- Collaborative spirit to engage and innovate with the DornerWorks team and customers.
- Knack for communication, both verbally and in writing, to interface across the organization and with technical partners and customers.
- Working knowledge of circuit design and layout techniques, including analog, digital, programmable logic, and microcontroller technologies.
- Strong technical writing.
- Unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.
