The Franchise Business Coach (FBC) is a key member of our Operations Team, supporting the franchise community to follow Sylvan Learning’s recipe for success while maximizing top- and bottom-line revenue. As a Sylvan FBC, your role is centered around developing productive partnerships with franchisees that lead to meaningful positive impacts to the lives of customers, students, franchisees, their staff, and yourself!
FBC Responsibilities
  • Understanding and supporting Sylvan’s systems, brand standards, and processes.
  • Providing strategic business support in the areas of Sales, Operations, P&L Management, Systems, and Local Marketing.
  • Leading Franchisees and their staff to sales targets and accountability towards those goals.
  • Presenting and facilitating in-person and remote training, coaching, site evaluations, and peer groups.
  • Supplementing Sylvan’s curated training resources and processes by implementing and supporting training and re-training efforts.
  • Influencing Franchisees to adopt best practices and successful behaviors.
  • Collaborating with additional company resources to support franchise growth and profitability.
  • Conducting Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) to ensure compliance to the Sylvan License Agreement, Operations Manual, and growth initiatives to maximize franchisee performance.
  • Communicating corporate initiatives and specifications.
  • Accurately documenting all Franchisee communications.
  • Collecting and communicating best practices, insights, and feedback at all levels.
  • Supporting franchisee’s opening/closing store procedures.

Ideal Candidates
  • Have well-developed communication skills, the ability to influence outcomes, focus themselves and others on productive efforts, and always do so professionally and respectfully.
  • Are experienced problem solvers able to manage multiple, and sometimes changing, priorities with an appropriate level of urgency.
  • Consistently meet deadlines by managing their time, communicating statuses, utilizing effective organization systems, and collaborating with the Sylvan community at all levels.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and driven environment and community.
  • Effectively work independently and with a team in a remote-working environment.
Requirements & Preferences
  • Desire to achieve measured outcomes and further develop professional skills
  • Proven record of meeting business goals through producing revenue and profitability growth
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or a related field
  • Consulting experience, preferably with franchisees
  • Ability to work remotely and travel up to 30% of the time
