We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis. About the Role
As a Freelance Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines and transformations to support our company’s data initiatives. You will work closely with international colleagues, ensuring clean, reliable, and well-documented data workflows. This is a contract-based position with flexibility in working arrangements, focused on delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
- Integrate data from multiple systems including SQL databases, MongoDB, ERP, CRM, Microsoft Dynamics and APIs.
- Implement and manage data lakehouse architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, and normalization for downstream use cases.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, testing, and monitoring of data workflows.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency through validation and monitoring.
- Maintain proper documentation, metadata, and process records for delivered solutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of proven experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong technical skills in:
- SQL, Python (Pandas, PySpark)
- REST APIs and integration techniques
- Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure services
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Ability to deliver within agreed timelines and independently manage tasks.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience with automation or chatbot integration.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts (LLMs, plugin usage).
