Freelance-econometric and statistical Research Specialist

We are looking for a skilled Freelance Econometrician with strong expertise in statistical modeling, data analysis, and economic forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex datasets, building predictive models, and conducting advanced econometric analyses for research, business, or academic purposes.

You should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects, and delivering clear, well-documented analytical results.

Responsibilities

• Conduct econometric and statistical analyses using real-world, experimental, or panel data.
• Develop and validate regression models, time series forecasts, and causal inference models.
• Support academic, financial, or policy research through data-driven insights.
• Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets using appropriate econometric techniques.
• Provide technical documentation, reports, and interpretations of model outputs.
• Collaborate with clients or research teams to understand objectives and deliver tailored solutions.
• Maintain high standards of analytical accuracy, clarity, and reproducibility.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Statistics, Econometrics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience performing applied econometric analysis or research.
• Proficiency in econometric and statistical software, such as:
• Stata, R*, EViews, Python (statsmodels, pandas, NumPy), or SPSS*.
• Strong understanding of:
• Regression Analysis (OLS, GLS, 2SLS, Panel Data)
• Time Series Analysis (ARIMA, VAR, GARCH models)
• Hypothesis Testing and Model Diagnostics
• Causal Inference (Difference-in-Differences, IV, Fixed Effects)
• Ability to interpret and communicate results clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with academic or Ph.D.-level research projects.
• Knowledge of machine learning applications in econometrics.
• Familiarity with Bayesian modeling and forecasting techniques.
• Previous freelancing or consulting experience with proven client feedback.
