3D Modeling & Slicing Intern (Blender Expert) - Per-Model Pay

Job Description

We are seeking a 3D Modeling & Slicing Intern who is highly proficient in Blender (or equivalent industry-standard software). In this role, you will not just modify existing files; you will be responsible for creating custom 3D models completely based on our concepts, and preparing them flawlessly for 3D printing.

This is a project-based, per-model contract position, making it the perfect opportunity for university students looking to build a stellar portfolio while earning.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling: Design and sculpt clean, high-quality 3D models based on reference images, sketches, or briefs.
• Slicing & Optimization: Prepare, support, and slice models using slicing software (e.g., Creality Print) ensuring optimal printability, proper orientation, and manifold geometry.
• File Management: Deliver clean STL/OBJ files optimized for FDM printing, ensuring zero non-manifold edges or mesh errors.
• Iterative Design: Make quick adjustments to models based on test-print feedback to perfect the final product.

Requirements

• Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Blender (highly preferred) or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• 3D Printing Knowledge: Solid understanding of 3D printing constraints (overhangs, wall thickness, tolerances, and support generation).
• Slicing Skills: Experience with slicing software to prepare files for production.
• Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating your ability to create 3D models from scratch (organic, geometric, or product designs).
• Status: Current university student, recent graduate, or junior designer looking for practical industry experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to meet project deadlines.
