Are you passionate about teaching and creating educational video content? Studywave is an ed-tech startup building a study app for SAT, ACT, and AP students, with a mission to make high-quality test prep accessible to every student.
We are seeking knowledgeable and engaging Educational Content Creators to record short-form educational videos covering core subjects and sample problems for the SAT, ACT, and AP courses. These videos will be uploaded to the Studywave app for use in both structured and unstructured study programs. This is a freelance, remote opportunity, where creators are able to record and submit content on a flexible schedule.
We are currently hiring in the following subjects:
SAT Math, SAT Reading & Writing, AP Biology, AP US History, and AP World History.
Responsibilities:
Create engaging and clear educational videos that explain concepts and walk through problems in a step-by-step manner.
Record videos in a vertical format, primarily using a tablet and annotation tool such as GoodNotes, where you solve problems live and explain your thinking as you go.
Produce high-quality video and audio recordings with close attention to visual clarity, pacing, and presentation.
Submit raw, unedited footage for our team to handle post-production and editing.
Maintain a consistent and professional teaching presence, whether through voiceover, on-screen writing, or optional face-to-camera elements.
Complete and submit recordings in a timely manner with minimal assistance after onboarding.
Optionally, creators may also have the opportunity to become tutors on the platform and provide direct student support, feedback, and goal-setting through the app.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge in at least one relevant subject area, such as SAT, ACT, or AP course content.
Ability to explain concepts clearly, efficiently, and in an easy-to-follow way.
Charismatic and engaging teaching style.
Close attention to detail, especially in the technical quality and presentation of recorded content.
Familiarity with digital annotation tools such as GoodNotes, OneNote, or similar tablet-based applications.
Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or educational instruction is strongly preferred.
Experience in video production, film, TV, podcasting, public speaking, or other performance-based work is a plus, but not required.
Application Process:
To apply, please submit the following through Handshake:
A brief cover letter outlining your experience, subject strengths, and approach to teaching.
A copy of your resume.
After submitting an application, selected candidates will be sent a Google Form with instructions to submit a short sample video prior to interviews.
Sample Video:
The sample video should demonstrate how you would teach or solve a problem in your subject area. Full instructions will be provided, but candidates should be prepared to record a short, clear video showing both their teaching ability and comfort with the recording format.
We are open to different presentation styles. While many videos will likely involve screen recording on a tablet with digital handwriting and annotations, candidates are welcome to incorporate their own creative approach where appropriate. The priority is clear, high-quality educational content that explains concepts effectively.
Please Note:
We handle all editing, post-production, and upload on our end. Creators are only responsible for submitting the raw footage.
Most videos will be recorded in a vertical format optimized for smartphone viewing, similar to a full-screen tablet page.
We are excited to review your application and see your teaching style!
