Freelance Technical Designer

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Freelance Technical Designer to join our creative team. This role involves translating fashion concepts into detailed technical specifications, ensuring seamless product development from design to production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fashion design, graphic design and garment construction, with the ability to work independently in a flexible freelance capacity.

Duties

• Develop detailed technical sketches and specifications for apparel and accessories using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Create and review CAD patterns and prototypes to ensure accurate garment construction and fit.
• Collaborate with design teams to translate creative concepts into production-ready designs while maintaining brand standards.
• Manage product lifecycle stages from initial concept through sample development, fitting and final production with factories
• Prepare technical packages that include measurements, construction details, fabric selections and trims for manufacturing partners.
• Conduct fittings, grading and review samples to refine fit, construction and overall aesthetic quality.
• Assist with merchandising strategies by aligning design specifications with market trends and retail requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends in fashion styling, graphic design and color theory to inform creative decisions.

Skills

• Minimum 2 years of fashion tech design experience
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for digital sketching and technical drawings
• Proficiency in formulating Excel sheets for grading
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
