Freelance Video Editor

Please include a website to your reel in your resume

About F7 Media

F7 Media is the commercial production arm of F7 Studios, a Seattle-based multi-entity media organization specializing in cinematic video production, photography, and storytelling for brands, events, and individuals. We work across commercial, documentary, and social content — and we hold our work to a high creative and technical standard on every project.

The Role

We're looking for a freelance video editor to join our production roster on a project-by-project basis. We welcome applicants at all experience levels — including emerging editors building their professional reel. You'll collaborate directly with our creative director to deliver polished, client-ready edits across a range of project types, from commercial brand videos and event recaps to documentary-style content and social media cuts.

What You'll Do

Edit raw footage into final deliverables based on project briefs and creative direction

Deliver rough cuts and revisions on agreed timelines

Apply color grading and audio mixing in DaVinci Resolve

Export in proper specs for broadcast, web, and social platforms

Maintain organized project files and handoff-ready archives

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (required)

Familiarity with Sony camera footage, including S-Log profiles and color science

Strong storytelling instinct — you understand how pacing and structure shape a viewer's experience

Ability to work from a creative brief with minimal hand-holding

Clean communication, reliable timelines, and openness to revision feedback

A portfolio, student work, or personal projects that demonstrate your editing sensibility

Experience Level

We're open to candidates at all stages — from recent graduates and self-taught editors to seasoned professionals. What matters most is your eye, your work ethic, and how you handle footage.

Bonus Points

Experience with S-Log3 or other log formats and LUT-based grading workflows

Familiarity with music licensing platforms (Musicbed, Artlist, etc.)

Based in or familiar with the Seattle market

Comfort turning around short social cuts alongside longer-form projects

Compensation

Project-based rates, negotiated per engagement. We pay fairly for quality work and build long-term relationships with editors we trust.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule

Work Location: Remote
