Job Summary:

Van Wyck & Van Wyck is seeking experienced, Part-time Freelance Truck Drivers to deliver loads to project event sites in the Tri-state area, and occasionally out-of-state.

Position Responsibilities:

• Pick up and deliver loads locally in and around the NJ/NY Metro area and occasionally out-of-state, in support of client events (dispatch will occur out of our North Bergen, NJ warehouse/studio)
• Assist in loading and off-loading trucks
• Follow the daily mapped delivery and or pick-up route, following explicit directions
• Track and report working hours
• Keep interior of vehicle clean of debris and clutter
• Adhere to established safety policies and safe driving practices (obeying traffic laws and driving in accordance with weather and traffic conditions)
• Interact with clients and staff in a friendly and professional manner
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations (load size, weight, route designations, parking, violation and incident reporting requirements, break periods, etc.)
• Assist in basic warehouse duties when not driving including: packing and wrapping elements, moving elements in designated areas in warehouse, cleaning elements returning from client events and storing in designated areas, and other basic duties as assigned by the Warehouse Floor Manager

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years experience driving straight box trucks
• Events experience highly preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (will be asked to present current driving abstract for internal review)
• Must have current DOT card (which must remain active and in good standing during employment)
• Able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Able to work in a fast paced environment, adapting to changing schedules or routines with ease
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain strict delivery and pick-up time schedules
• Friendly, professional, and above all - a TEAM PLAYER!
• CDL a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects, boxes, materials, or elements weighing up to 75 pounds (manually and with handling equipment)
• Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
• Ability to climb in and out of box truck
• Ability to stretch, reach, and bend for long periods of time during daily routine

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
